The family behind Sunset Grove

Sunset Grove is family owned and family run. This page is about who we are, how we host, and why groups keep coming back.

How It Started

One building, built for staying together

Sunset Grove opened its doors in the spring of 2024, a four-story property in Wake Forest with two complete homes and a rooftop deck overlooking the town. Stand up there at golden hour, and the name makes perfect sense.

The idea was simple. Large groups visiting Wake Forest had very few options for staying together. A hotel can split a family across six rooms and a hallway. Sunset Grove sleeps up to thirteen guests under one roof, each in a real bed.

Since then, 220 groups have stayed here for Thanksgiving gatherings, family reunions, work retreats, wedding weekends, and tournament travel. Eight out of ten guests come from out of state, and many return the following year.

How We Host

Who takes care of you

Day to day, guest care is handled by Marianna, our property manager. You'll likely hear from her before you arrive, and she'll be your point of contact throughout your stay. Many guests mention her by name in their reviews.

  • Fast answers. Message us on Airbnb or Vrbo and you can expect a quick response before and during your stay. 'Incredibly responsive' is one of the most common themes in our reviews.
  • A hotel-clean reset between every stay. Guests regularly describe the homes as 'spotless' and 'extraordinarily clean.'
  • A local guide waiting for you. You'll find a printed guide at the house with our favorite local recommendations. One guest specifically mentioned how much she loved it.
  • Stocked from the start. Pots, pans, seasonings, coffee, toiletries, and kids' essentials are already there when you arrive.
